Liberty in Sardinia

A Liberty print tana lawn beach dress for long, carefree days on the beach.

A quick trip to Liberty department store a few days before my honeymoon made me come to the conclusion that I absolutely needed a printed cotton dress / bathing suit cover for the beach.  I kept the pattern simple so it was quick to make. (Thankfully I caught the plane.)

The print is originally from Spring/Summer 2005.

Small Susanna C Tana Lawn, Liberty Art Fabrics

Easy summer sewing for easy days.

  2. Oh this does nothing for my efforts at avoiding spending the money on Liberty either! Such a lovely dress...did you use a pattern? ...because if I can't have Liberty I might at least be able to find a cute cotton print and make a version of my own. I can't sew as well as you, but for something this pretty I'd give it a whirl.

  3. Hello and thank you for the comment! I drafted my own pattern for this one. I love simple summer patterns because they let nice prints speak for themselves -- I'm sure which ever cotton print and pattern you decide on for your creation, it will be lovely - go for it! :)

  5. Hi Sydney, it's a Diana Dressmakers Dummy. They are widely available through different suppliers.
