Hello,I love this dress and sent you photo of my version. Needles
This is great:) thankyou so much
Thank you ever so much for the pattern! I was wondering which program did you use for creating it? I'm interested in drafting a pattern myself and tried creating one with AutoCAD today, but I'm afraid this program is a bit too advanced for me to master.
Hi Esta! I hope you like it! I'm lucky to have a pattern grader in my neighbourhood. He scanned it in for me and then I edited it in illustrator and photoshop. I thought autocad was the answer too but it was beyond me, even with my architect husband's help. Good luck with it, looking forward to following your blog and seeing what you create! Let me know if ican be of any help!
Hi! Just found this after popping over to see your amazing Elisalex and I am going to download it now. Thank you ever so much, very generous.
Hi Taracat thanks for stopping by! If you do make it please check out my tutorial first on how to adjust the sleeves. I made them a little narrow and I realise its not necessarily to everyone's taste!Love your swingy Elisalex and looking forward to following!
This is such a lovely pattern, thank you so much! I've been hoarding some Lizzy House Twinkle fabric for a future dress and I think this might be the one! Can I ask a quick question... I was thinking of wearing this with a pouffy underskirt (that's a technical term obviously) for a party. It looks the pleats in the front will allow that extra bit of volume but do you think there's enough room in the back for this or would it benefit from a couple of added pleats? Thanks for your help in advance!
Hi Rosie! That sounds lovely! I would definitely add a few deep pleats in the back to balance it out. I can't wait to see it when it's finished! And please don't forget to use the tutorial on ow to adjust the sleeves, they are narrower than most. Good luck and have fun! :)
Just to let you know - it's all done and I love it! Really, thanks so much for the pattern, I'm planning to take some photos at the weekend so will send some over!
Oh my gosh thanks I'm so happy to hear that!! Can't wait to see the pics and if you used the poofy underskirt!
It's all done (http://haberdasheryblues.wordpress.com/2013/04/20/twinkle-twinkle-little-bat-how-i-wonder-what-youre-at/). Thanks again, one happy customer!

Hi :) I really love this pattern, you're an amazing designer! May I ask u which software do you use to draw the electronic pattern? Thanks
Hi Loquilla, Thank you for the nice comment! I actually draw them by hand and then take them to someone who digitises them for me. I've used actual pattern software before like Gerber, and I know there are home versions too - hope this helps!
Hi, I love this pattern, you're an amazing designer :) May I aske which software are u using to draw the electronic pattern? Thanks
Help!! I absolutely love the Garden Party dress. I started sewing the bodice together and if felt a little snug, took it out a little, sewed the sleeves those felt snug also had to take it out, sewed the sleeves to the bodice and it was even more snug. I'm doing the size 16 which is a U.S size 12 I don't know what I'm doing wrong.I am a returning sewer haven't sewn garments in a while. If someone could help me with this dress I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi Stacy, sorry to hear you are having some problems. Are you working on a muslin or using your final fabric? The dress does have a snug fit. Try decreasing the seam allowance as much as possible, although it sounds like you have already done this. I have actually just finished a second version of the pattern, with a little more give, especially in the sleeves, which I could email to you. Drop me a email if you are interested and I can forward it to you. Hope this helps.
Hello Thank you for responding to my e-mail I brought my taped-up pattern to a fashion designer friend of mine and he looked at it and noticed the sizing scale was not right, my mistake. I will for now on bring to a printer to print it for me. Yes I would love to see and have a copy of the second version of the dress. Here is my e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you for all of your help, as soon as I get around I will make and send a picture of it to you.Thank you Stacey
Hi Stacey, Happy to hear you were able to the bottom of it! Really looking forward to seeing your version!
Hello, I am Chiara. I have a question for you....what software you use to draw the patterns that you post online? thank you very much :D :D :D
Hi Chiara,I draft them by hand and I have a friendly neighbourhood grader / digitiser who I use...best of luck with your designs!
hi there, wondering how much fabric i would need to make this? it's a beautiful pattern! also, what type of fabric would you suggest?
Hello! If you mean the Garden Party Dress it's anything from 1.65-2.2M depending on the width of the fabric. Make sure to read the instructions that go with the pattern which describes this in more detail - you can download them by clicking on the picture above. For fabric I suggest anything light to medium weight, cotton and light wool work well. Hope this helps and thanks for your nice comment!
